A savings projection depends on deposits and the rates applied over time. The SSY Calculator is a scenario tool; a displayed default is not a promise of a constant future rate.
Separate deposits and interest
Twelve monthly deposits of 5,000 total 60,000 in a year. Fifteen such years total 900,000 before interest. Actual contribution limits, eligibility and permitted deposit periods must be checked separately against current scheme documentation.
Deposit dates matter when interest depends on a qualifying balance. Grouping deposits annually may differ from an account calculation using monthly balances. Read the timing assumptions before comparing a projection with a passbook.
Verify outside the calculator
Check current rates, account dates, contribution limits, withdrawal conditions and eligibility with the official account provider. Do not infer tax eligibility from a projected maturity amount.
Run a lower-rate scenario as well as the default, and save the assumed rate and date with the result. This is a method for evaluating a projection, not current account-opening or tax advice.
