An invoice total of ₹1,180 that already includes 18% GST. What is the base price?
Base ₹1,000, GST ₹180.
Subtracting 18% from a GST-inclusive amount is wrong by ₹32.40 here, because the 18% was applied to the smaller base, not to the total. The error grows with the invoice value and is a common cause of reconciliation mismatches.
